Communicate clearly during challenging conversations

Navigating challenging situations and high-stakes conversations takes active listening skills and awareness of psychological reactions to conflict. Minor misunderstandings—frequently caused by miscommunications between people with different perspectives—can have significant workplace impacts. Blanchard's Conversational Capacity® teaches people how to engage in constructive, learning-focused dialogue when challenging topics or conflicts arise so they can make informed decisions and find the best solutions, even under high pressure.

Course Details

The Blanchard Conversational Capacity® public course is an instructor-led virtual course with three two-hour sessions. The course includes prework activities and engaging participant materials, videos, and learning activities that teach the following concepts:

  • Four skills for keeping conversations open, balanced, and productive
  • How to maintain a learning-focused mindset
  • A method for overcoming obstacles to conversational capacity
  • Natural tendencies to either minimize or elevate

Who Should Attend

This course enables anyone to improve how they communicate, how they influence, and how they collaborate with others:

  • People leaders will learn to foster open, honest, and constructive conversations, even in challenging, emotionally charged situations
  • Individual contributors will build confidence and clarity in expressing their ideas, especially when engaging with colleagues whose opinions differ
